The FASD Research Australia Centre of Research Excellence aims to:

  • Prevent alcohol use in pregnancy and its effects on child health and decrease the incidence of FASD
  • Improve national FASD diagnostic capacity and management through effective interventions

Key outcomes within prevention, diagnosis and management have been identified as priorities for the FASD Research Australia team.

There are two research and translation hubs - Perth and Sydney - that build on the two major FASD research groups in Australia. The wide ranges of projects are highly collaborative.

FASD Hub Australia

FASD Hub Australia is a website developed by an alliance of organisations working to provide a ‘one stop shop’ for information, tools and resources that are current and evidence based. Funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, the website provides information about alcohol and pregnancy and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) for health professionals, parents and carers, other professionals (including justice and education), researchers and policy makers.
